Maersk Broker building its offshore strength

Maersk Broker announced its second acquisition in one week. The company is taking over British Kennedy Marr and thus boosting its offshore staff to around 20 people. "We believe the offshore market will recover," Global Head of Maersk Broker Offshore, Finn Essendrop tells ShippingWatch.

Maersk family injects millions in new investment fund

The Maersk family and its four partners in the investment company Navigare Capital Partners, which will manage pension funds worth over USD 300 million, have injected upwards of DKK 100 million (USD 14 million) in a new fund, which will likely be the first of several funds aimed at investing in shipping.

The firm has signed a declaration of intent to become new majority shareholder in Danish broker firm Lanic. "We consider Lanic to be a quality brokerage firm that will be a perfect match, we are sure, with the rest of our organization," says Claes Devantier, senior exec at Maersk Broker.
