Earnings at the Arabian LNG carrier decreased by a little under QAR 30 million in 2016. Despite the downturn in the oil and gas market and overcapacity in the shipping markets, the carrier is pleased with the result.
Dubai-based tanker carrier Nakilat nearly managed to keep its earnings in the third quarter on par with the level seen in the third quarter last year in spite of an overall weaker market for LNG and LPG transports.
Doha-based shipping group Milaha saw its overall revenue and profit slide slightly in the first quarter due to the pressured markets in container and offshore. Tanker carrier Milaha Gas and petrochem was the only unit to note growth.
Milaha continued its strong performance in the first six months of the year, where the group's combined business increased 26 percent. Gas and offshore performed particularly well in a challenging market.
