The two gas carriers Höegh LNG and Nakilat will look into forming a joint business in Floating Storage and Regasification Units for LNG. The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the possibilities.
Earnings at the Arabian LNG carrier decreased by a little under QAR 30 million in 2016. Despite the downturn in the oil and gas market and overcapacity in the shipping markets, the carrier is pleased with the result.
Dubai-based tanker carrier Nakilat nearly managed to keep its earnings in the third quarter on par with the level seen in the third quarter last year in spite of an overall weaker market for LNG and LPG transports.
