Maersk Drilling forms alliance with Aker BP and Halliburton

Maersk Drilling has formed an alliance with Norway's Aker BP, which also sees Halliburton play a part. ""We see great potential in a deeper collaboration across the industry to eliminate inefficiencies and create joint value," says CEO Jørn Madsen.

The offshore market can welcome a new alliance in the form of Maersk Drilling and Aker BP. The two companies have joined forces with oil service major Halliburton in an arrangement that will at first run for five years, with the option of extending the agreement to ten years, informs Maersk Drilling in a press release.

The aim of the new alliance is to lower costs per barrel of oil for Aker BP, and thus boosting profit for the partners in the alliance.
