Statoil awards drilling contracts worth over EUR 1 billion

The Norwegian oil major has distributed over EUR 1 billion worth of contracts across 18 platforms to Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell.

Statoil has hired Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell Drilling to carry out drilling, completion, intervention services, plugging, maintenance and modifications on 18 of Statoil's fixed platforms, announces the oil giant in a press release.

According to the statement, the contracts total NOK 12 billion in value (EUR 1.24 billion), taking effect from Oct. 1. The contracts run for four years, but include three two-year extension options.
