Viking Supply books Q3 profit following sale of ships

Sweden's Viking Supply Ships has sold five PSV offshore vessels, and the gains helped push the company to a small profit in an otherwise strained market. There are still far to many ships in the market, says CEO.

Offshore vessel operator Viking Supply Ships is still struggling in a market with far too many vessels vying for the available contracts.

The company has now sold all of its platform supply vessels (PSV) along with three-icebreakers, and these one-off gains helped push the bottom line to a profit.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
