Ship sales boost Viking Supply in tough times in the North Sea

Swedish offshore carrier Viking Supply Service projects a sustained tough market for offshore service vessels operating in the North Sea. But the company is now back in black after having sold a series of vessels.

Viking Supply Ships recorded a slightly lower revenue in 2018, though the bottom line went positive, mainly caused by income from ships sales.

The offshore carrier's revenue for 2018 landed at SEK 300 million (USD 32.4 million), down from SEK 331 million in 2017, while the post-tax result is SEK 2.3 million. That is a considerable growth from a deficit of SEK 143 million booked the year prior, shows the company's financial statement for the fourth quarter and 2018 published Thursday.
