Drilling company loses contract with BP ahead of schedule

Oil company BP cancels a long-term contract with one of Odfjell Drilling's rigs ahead of schedule. The drilling company has, however, already secured new work for the rig in Norway.

Norwegian drilling company Odfjell Drilling has lost a long-term contract with oil company BP ahead of time.

The large British oil company – more specifically BP Exploration Operating Company – has decided to annul its contract for rig Deepsea Aberdeen, which was otherwise not set to expire until April 2022.
