Strained Seadrill secures postponement from some of its creditors

John Fredriksen's Seadrill has reached agreement with some of its creditors to postpone payments on debt. But the company has not reached such an agreement with Danske Bank.

Struggling rig operator Seadrill gets a breather from some of its lenders to postpone payments on debt.

Seadrill has thus agreed with some of its lenders to postpone payments on debt until Dec. 14, according to a press release Friday. This is done to provide more time to settle a large-scale rescue plan, that might need to be found through the court, says the company.
