Shell enters Norwegian hydrogen project

Aker Clean Hydrogen and Capeomega have signed an MoU to explore options for developing Aukra Hydrogen Hub. The hydrogen produced at the facility can be used to decarbonize local industrial processes and ensure zero-emission fuel for maritime and land freight.

Using natural gas from a local processing facility in Nyhamna, Norway, Shell, Aker Clean Hydrogen and Capeomega are interested in setting up a joint blue hydrogen operation, Aker Clean Hydrogen informs in a stock exchange notice.

Shell operates gas field Ormen Lange on the Norwegian continental shelf and also runs the attached gas plant in Nyhamna, where Aker Clean Hydrogen has long planned to establish production.
