DUC invests billions in the North Sea

A.P. Møller – Maersk and its partners from Danish Underground Consortium (DUC) are preparing the largest investment in the North Sea in years.

DUC has set aside USD 800 million for a new rig in the North Sea, set to offer an abundance of extra oil and gas over the next many years, Maersk Oil and Gas reveals in a press release.

The new project is an expansion of the Tyra Field, the largest gas field in the Danish sector of the North Sea, and DUC expects to extract oil and gas corresponding to 50 million barrels over the next 30 years. According to Maersk the investment is the largest for DUC since 2007.
