Maersk secures new drilling contract for USD 137 million

Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with Norwegian Talisman Energy concerning the use of oil rig Maersk Giant in the Norwegian part of the North Sea.

Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with Talisman Energy concerning the use of oil rig Maersk Giant in the Norwegian part of the North Sea. The contract runs for one year and is worth USD 137 million, says the company in a press release on Friday.

The figure amounts to a daily rate of USD 375,000, and the agreement is scheduled to become effective from the middle of the third quarter 2014. Talisman has an option for three additional years.
