SBM Offshore finds signs of bribery

There is a high probability that corruption has occurred between Dutch offshore giant SBM and officials in Angola and Equatorial Guinea, according to an internal investigation in the company.

Following a two-year internal investigation, the result is clear: There are signs that Dutch SBM has paid money directly to officials in the African countries in which the company has worked. In a statement published by SBM Offshore on Wednesday, the company says that it does not yet know what direct consequences the cases might have, financially or otherwise.
