Dong lands giant profit in 1st quarter

The times are changing for the Danish state-owned energy company, as 1st quarter profit has quadrupled compared to last year.

Growth continues in 2014 for CEO Henrik Poulsen and the approximately 6,000 employees at state-owned Dong Energy.

Profit and operating profit in the first quarter of the year came to USD 297.6 million and USD 1.17 billion, respectively, a development that represents a massive improvement compared to the same period last year, when the company's result finished at USD 88.1 million and the operating profit came to USD 855.6 million.
