Rosneft hires law firm to fight Western sanctions

The major Russian oil company has hired a law firm that has, in the past and with partial success, defended one of Iran's biggest banks.

State-owned Russian oil company Rosneft is preparing for a legal battle at the EU courts concerning the Western sanctions that impact Rosneft following the crisis in Ukraine, reports the Wall Street Journal.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
