Maersk one of several suspects in the Petrobras affair

Maersk is just one of several companies suspected of having used bribes in the large-scale scandal surrounding Brazil's state-owned oil company Petrobras. Dutch SBM Offshore is another.

The unraveling of the bribery scandal at Brazilian state-owned oil company Petrobras has revealed ties to numerous places around the world, and has shown that the Maersk Group represents just one piece in the large and complex case.

It was revealed earlier this week that the company being investigated in Brazil is Maersk Supply Service. Maersk has, however, told Danish news media DR that Maersk Tankers is the only business unit that pays commissions to the broker who is allegedly at the center of the charges leveled by Brazilian authorities against the Danish shipping and oil group.
