Maersk Oil performs layoffs in Angola prestige project

Maersk Oil slashes 60 jobs in the Chissonga project in Angola. The layoffs come in the wake of 110 cut jobs at the beginning of the year. The company's future in the field remains unclear.

The sliding oil price has forced Maersk Oil to scrutinize its projects, and not least its portfolio, and this process has now resulted in layoffs for 60 of the oil company's employees at the major Angola project Chissonga, informs Maersk Oil in a statement.
