North Sea rates unaffected by widespread anchoring

Anchoring of supply vessels in the North Sea will increase in strength in coming weeks and months, says Clarksons Platou, but day rates are so far unaffected by the widespread anchoring.

With Norway’s Siem Offshore as the latest example, anchoring of supply ships in the North Sea seems to continue unabated. But the large and increasing number of idled ships in the North Sea has not led to a rise in rates in any way, according to the most recent figures from Clarksons Platou.
