Oil discovered in Maersk's new Africa licenses

After paying USD 365 million for oil licenses in Africa, the Danish oil company can look forward to a share of a new high quality oil discovery. The license transactions are still awaiting regulatory approval.

Maersk Oil's USD 365 million investment in five African oil licenses is now paying off.

The company's partners and operator in one of the Kenya licenses, Tullow Oil, informs in a press release that it has hit the jackpot and has found oil deposits in relation to an exploration drilling.
