Hard-pressed Norwegian offshore carrier given new deadline

Olympic Shipping, controlled by Norwegian businessman Stig Remøy, has been granted an extension on its deal with creditors and now has until Friday to find a solution to the company's problems. Remøy has previously rejected a takeover by Kjell Inge Røkke and his Aker Group.

Creditors have granted Norwegian offshore carrier Olympic Shipping a new deadline to find a long-term solution to its problems.

The carrier writes in a statement Monday that it is negotiating with lenders and investors and have initiated discussions with bondholders.
