Trump officially picks oil CEO as Secretary of State

After several days of rumors, Donald Trump has now officially appointed Rex Tillerson, CEO in ExxonMobil, as his new Secretary of State. Several significant politicians from both major US parties have expressed concerns over the new top diplomat's close relationship to Vladimir Putin.

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that ExxonMobil CEO Rex Tillerson is his choice as Secretary of State.

In a written statement, the incoming president says that Tillerson has the format, experience, and a deep understanding of geopolitics which makes him "an excellent choice" for the job.
