APM Terminals hit by huge impairment for 2017

Challenging markets spurred APM Terminals to book a USD 621 million impairment for the full year 2017.

Maersk's future core business, alongside liner unit Maersk Line and Hamburg Süd, will be port operator APM Terminals, which has now booked a large impairment of USD 621 million for all of 2017.

In the report, Maersk attributes the impairment to "commercially challenged markets" for APM Terminals.
