CMA CGM allegedly in talks with Djibouti for new terminal

CMA CGM is allegedly in talks with the government in Djibouti about a container terminal, reports Alphaliner. A surprise development after DP World recently lost its concession in the African country.

France's CMA CGM could be about to enter African country Djibouti, as the liner company and container terminal owner is allegedly in talks with the Djibouti government to open a new container terminal there, reports Alphaliner.

The new terminal is worth USD 660 million and will be named Doraleh International Container Terminal. It will be able to handle 2.40 million and 15 percent of the project will be financed by Djibouti Ports and Free Zone Authority (DPFZA), while the rest of the funds will be raised through institutional investors and banks.
