It made headlines in the industry when port giant DP World acquired shipping company Unifeeder in an EUR 660 million transaction.

The acquisition is unusual for the shipping industry, which typically sees carriers acquiring terminal operators and not the other way around, says maritime and supply chain consultancy firm Drewry.
