
The DP World group handled 12.81 million twenty-foot containers (teu) in the first half of 2013, a 3.9 percent organic decline compared to the same period last year. As DP World also divested assets, the total decline reached 5.7 percent, says the group.
In particular, DP World handled a significantly lower amount of containers in Asia, the Pacific, and India, where volumes declined 9.8 percent measured in organic numbers compared to the first half of 2012. Europe, the Middle East, and Africa declined 2.6 percent organically, while Australia and North and South America contributed a marginal growth of 0.2 percent.
