Competition Commissioner requires taxation of EU ports

The EU Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, calls for the Netherlands, Belgium and France to charge taxes of ports. She is also working on an initiative to boost growth in the ports.

The European Union's Commissioner for Competition, Margrethe Vestager, is now criticizing the Netherlands, Belgium and France for not charging taxes from a series of ports, which thus get a competitive edge over other European ports.
