Antwerp snatches market shares from neighbor ports

The Port of Antwerp had a record year in 2016. The port grew in container freight, while stealing freight from the major competitors in Rotterdam and Hamburg.

The large Port of Antwerp had a terrific 2016, where freight volumes grew in all segments besides dry bulk. The port estimates in total that the combined freight volumes for this year will reach beyond than 214 million tons.
