According to Alphaliner, the Port of Rotterdam will maintain its position as Europe's most important port when the new container alliances on Asia-Europe services launch their new and upgraded sailing schedules, starting in April.

Although Rotterdam will lose two weekly calls due to the schedule alterations, the analyst agency projects that this will be more than compensated for by a double call from the 2M alliance: Maersk Line and MSC.
