Exxon sees oil demand down 20 percent in 2040; or maybe it'll be up

ExxonMobil has released a report and an outlook, and the two documents predict different scenarios. One states that oil demand may fall 20 percent, while the other predicts that it will grow 20 percent.

If climate change curbs live up to their promise, oil demand may fall 20 percent by 2040, Exxon Mobil Corp. says in one forward-looking report. But a more likely scenario is it will grow by 20 percent, the company says in separate outlook.
