Former IBM and Google execs want to reduce shipping companies' fuel consumption

Startup Nautilus Labs, which has several employees with experience from Google, IBM and Amazon, wants to lower shipping companies' fuel costs significantly. Customers include Eagle Bulk.

The many startups venturing into shipping these years are fighting for the carriers' attention.

Several of them are looking to gather and process the shipping companies' scores of data and information and in this way achieve cost reductions, for instance on fuel – a hot topic in the shipping sector where there are now just 10 months left before the new, global sulfur regulations come into force.
