Aker Solutions aims for 4,000 new employees this year

Norwegian Aker Solutions is one of the major players in the Nordic maritime cluster. The company hires 3-4,000 employees a year, in 2013 as well. But there are many to choose from. Aker received 120,000 applications last year.

OSLO: Human resources are in heavy demand in the oil and gas industry, an industry that is in sore need of more people. And Norwegian oil service company Aker Solutions, which consists of nine different business areas such as subsea, engineering, and drilling, is a solid illustration of that. In 2012, the company hired a little over 3,000 new employees and it expects to need another 3,000 to 4,000 during 2013, says CEO Leif Haukom to ShippingWatch. [fakta-2]
