
LNG is the best fuel option for the future in the shipping industry, which has to come up with new solutions to stricter environmental rules in coming years, says Angus Campbell, Managing Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement UK. Carriers and shipowners who choose to invest in the liquefied natural gas as bunker fuel for their ships now, can secure a market-leading position, and there is every reason to do so, he believes.
"Distillate fuels are expensive and there is a likelihood that the price will increase due to demand as emission regulations are enforced in multiple areas," he explained to the audience at the recent Gastech conference in Singapore.
