Bernhard Schulte: LNG cannot be ignored

The shipping industry cannot afford to ignore LNG as bunker fuel, says the Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement UK. The natural gas is superior to both the use of scrubbers and other alternative marine fuels, he says.

LNG is the best fuel option for the future in the shipping industry, which has to come up with new solutions to stricter environmental rules in coming years, says Angus Campbell, Managing Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement UK. Carriers and shipowners who choose to invest in the liquefied natural gas as bunker fuel for their ships now, can secure a market-leading position, and there is every reason to do so, he believes.
