The Danish merchant fleet bigger than expected

The commitment of Danish shipping companies on the oceans now covers 2,500 ships

The Danish merchant fleet has grown since the onset of the crisis in 2008, writes the Danish Shipowners’ Association in its newsletter. The total commitment of Danish shipping companies now stands at 2,500 ships, or about 78 tons of deadweight, corresponding to six percent of the world merchant fleet.

Jan Fritz Hansen, vice president of the Danish Shipowners’ Association, is pleased by the result.
