Researchers: Protection of Danish merchant navy is crucial

Piracy should be fought by The Royal Danish Navy in order to make sure the Danish merchant navy can enjoy smooth sailing. That is the conclusion of a new study by The Center for Military Studies at Copenhagen University released on Friday morning.

Its purpose is to submit proposals as to how The Danish Defence may prioritize its key areas while also having to cut three billion Danish kroner. Safety at sea is one of the areas in which The Center for Military Studies strongly recommends no cuts be made.
