Possibilities for pirate prosecution in Tanzania and Mauritius

Current foreign policy negotiations may lead to Danish vessels being able to hand over pirates for prosecution in Tanzania and Mauritus, the Danish Foreign Minister told the Danish Parliament yesterday.

In future it may be possible to hand over pirates for prosecution in Tanzania and Mauritus if current negotiations between the Danish Foreign Ministry and these countries are successful. This was the message from the Danish Foreign Minister Villy Søvndal yesterday.

If an agreement is made, Denmark will be able to hand over pirates for prosecution in four different countries as Denmark has already entered into agreements with Kenya and the Seychelles.
