Danish Government defies threats at Africa’s Horn

Even though pirate groupings have threatened to execute hostages if the EU continues its land offensive in Somalia, the Danish Government will not give in to pirate threats.

Even though Danish forces are not directly involved in the EU Navfor, the Danish Government encourages the joint forces to continue efforts in spite of the execution threats made by pirate groupings last week.

The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Villy Søvndal, says that the pirates’ announcement should confirm the demand for military presence in the region.
