Connie Hedegaard: Shipping companies have failed to improve ship design

EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard believes that shipping companies are partly to blame for being subjected to new EU regulations on CO2. The industry can definitely do more to protect the environment, says Hedegaard to ShippingWatch.

EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard believes that shipping companies are partly to blame for the new EU regulations under way, which are intended to limit CO2 emissions from Danish and European ships.  

The Climate Commissioner says to ShippingWatch it is only some actors that are doing theirs to limit CO2 emissions, but much more can be done by the industry.
