Jotun defies global crisis

The Norwegian marine coatings firm Jotun is making gains in all four divisions and expects further growth. The weak growth in Europe is offset by progress in, among other places, the Middle East and South East Asia.

The Norwegian marine coatings giant, Jotun, and major competitor to the Danish company Hempel, experienced a growth of nine percent in the first four months following turnover gains in both amount and value, states a new financial report from the company.

In total, the Jotun Group’s operating revenues of the first four months of 2012 were at just about 3.8 billion Norwegian kroner compared to 3.5 billion Norwegian kroner during the same period last year. It earned the company a total operating result of 295 million Norwegian kroner compared to 261 Norwegian kroner in the same period last year.
