The shipping industry is in danger of destroying itself from within, believes Rene Kofod-Olsen, outgoing Head of Svitzer’s Asia, Africa, and Middle East business, who is about to become the CEO of Svitzer’s competitor Topaz Energy & Marine.

“We in the shipping industry can be self-destructive, for instance in our approach to purchasing ships, which is one of the major reasons for the recent years’ prolonged crisis within the shipping industry,” says Rene Kofod-Olsen to ShippingWatch.
