The Office of Fair Trading has asked various players to submit commentaries on Eurotunnel’s purchase of three Seafrance ferries. Thereby, the Office of Fair Trading has officially launched an inquiry into the purchase, which has previously been criticized by DFDS among others. The investigation could lead to the case being passed on to the Competition Commission, the British authority handling competition cases, writes Lloyd’s Loading List.
Therefore, July 18 has been set as the deadline for submitting comments, while the final date for the verdict from the Office of Fair Trading has not been set. DFDS has already sent their commentary, and the competitor P&O Ferries is also formulating its commentary.
