Masamichi Morooka, chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping has written a letter to Christine Lagarde, the Managing Director of the IMF, in which he criticizes one sentence in particular from a speech she made in the beginning of June.
“The taxes on emissions from international aviation and shipping will raise about a fourth of the $100 billion needed for climate adaptation and reduction in developing countries. Those are resources which the developed countries have committed to mobilizing in 2020,” said Christine Lagarde on June 12.
