IMF statements on energy taxes upsets international shipping

In an open letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping (see photo) criticizes Managing Director of IMF Christine Lagarde for her statement on the coming energy taxes in international shipping.

Masamichi Morooka, chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping has written a letter to Christine Lagarde, the Managing Director of the IMF, in which he criticizes one sentence in particular from a speech she made in the beginning of June.

Those are resources which the developed countries have committed to mobilizing in 2020,” said Christine Lagarde on June 12.
