Second quarter saw lower earnings for Wärtsilä

Wärtsilä produced a lower result before taxes in the second quarter of 2012 in comparison with the second quarter of 2011, reveals the new quarterly report from the company.

On Wednesday, the Finnish motor and industry manufacturer Wärtsilä published their report for the second quarter, which revealed that the result before taxes was 10 million Euros lower than in the corresponding quarter of 2011.

The company’s order intake was 1.198 billion Euros compared to 1,170 billion Euros in the first quarter. This development constitutes a positive change of 2 percent. The operating result, however, was three percent lower at 113 million Euros from 117 million Euros, while the result before taxes fell from 98 million Euros to 108 million Euros.
