Trade association recommends ports to be ready for 2015

In spite of the challenges, the trade association Danish Ports recommends its members to be ready for the 2015 rules, says chairman of Danish Ports, Uffe Steiner Jensen, to ShippingWatch.

Even though Danish Ports is worried about the cost to shipping lines, the association urges its members to be ready to follow sulphur rules by 2015, where stricter emission rules for shipping in the North Sea and the Baltic Sea will come into effect.

“We haven’t been told anything but that the rules will come into effect as planned. So we urge our members to be ready by 2015,” says chairman of Danish ports, Uffe Steiner Jensen, to ShippingWatch.
