Only one in three containers on time in Africa

Packed ports, bureaucracy and inefficiency delay containers to African countries shows new SeaIntel analysis. Only one in three containers are delivered on time.

Only one in three of the containers to Africa arrive on time, a detailed examination carried out by the analyst company SeaIntel on the basis of data on the arrival of 4.3 million TEU in Africa from January 2011 to 30 June 2012 shows. Primarily, the analysis covers the 10 largest shipping companies as they account for almost all container traffic to Africa.
