Economists ask Norwegian Government to limit oil investments

The latest months’ news about the explosively increased level of investments in the Norwegian offshore sector and booming order books in the Norwegian shipyards now result in several economists warning about the development, Aftenposten writes.

Several respected Norwegian economists fear that the massive investments in the Norwegian offshore sector might result in an overload in the Norwegian economy and therefore they call on the Norwegian Government to limit the level of investments according to the Norwegian newspaper, Aftenposten.

They warn that the large investments may lead to a big pressure on wages in the sector; wages that are already artificially high as a result of the lack of labour especially engineers.
