ABB CEO: New offshore-organization good news for suppliers

The reactions are positive among subcontractors at the news that the offshore sector will get its own trade organization. One of these is ABB, where CEO Carsten Sørensen believes that this could result in more orders.

The potential for oil and gas could be exploited more effectively through a closer cooperation between operators and suppliers in the new Danish trade organization Oil Gas Denmark, which ShippingWatch presented two days ago, believes CEO of ABB Danmark, Carsten Sørensen. He believes that, in the long run, a closer cooperation and a better use of the resources in the underground will benefit the subcontractors, such as ABB.

“That a unified trade organization is now being established is a very positive development, which we fully support. It’s good that we now have a place where big and small operators and suppliers can come together, to add more weight to the industry. As opposed to Norway, where the offshore sector is big on the political stage, it’s important to profile the sector here in Denmark as well, not least to attract more young people to the business,” says Carsten Sørensen to ShippingWatch.
