RS Platou Markets assesses that the Maersk Group will present an extremely strong second quarter result. This prediction comes following the RS Platou Markets reception of the consensus figures on Thursday.

"Container freight rates powered ahead during 2Q12 at the same time as fuel costs declined. We expect very strong results with EBITDA of DKK 22bn (USD 3.6 billion) vs. DKK 14bn (USD 2.3 billion) in 1Q12 and higher than consensus at DKK 21bn (3.4 billion)", the RS Platou Markets analysis says.
