According to plan, the Danish tanker carrier, Uni-Tankers has by the end of July carried out the implementation of the nine tankers purchased from the shipping company Erria this January. The fleet will be further expanded this year, Uni-Tankers CEO, Torben Andersen, informs. The tanker carrier is a part of the Danish group United Shipping & Trading Company (USTC) which is solely owned by shipowner Torben Østergaard-Nielsen.
Within the next five years, the carriers’ ambition is to become a leading global player on the small and intermediate oil and chemical tanker markets. That is the same market another Danish tanker carrier, Nordic Tankers, which is now owned by an equity fund, operates in.
