Major investor plans to list Tankers Inc. by 2016

Ambitions are in no short supply when it comes to the building up of Tankers Inc. with backing from a number of shareholders including Barclays Natural Resource Investments (BNRI), a division of the British investment bank Barclays, which hopes to see a stock listing for the company in 2016.

Tankers Inc. may go public in 2016 if the development and the building up of the ambitious tanker ship company goes according to plans, reveals its major investor BNRI to ShippingWatch. Thereby, BNRI sets yet another important target for the new company run by former Torm employees.

“The most obvious target for Tankers Inc. is to work toward a stock listing. The time of this potential listing will be determined by when it is most suitable from a market perspective, but 2016 could be a qualified guess. It is too early to say where a stock listing would most advantageously take place – that will depend on the composition of the target investor base, the management team and the assets in the business,” says Director Freddie Lee of BNRI.
