
So far, BNRI has made only one single investment in shipping, more specifically in the Danish company Tankers Inc. run by the former Torm CEO Mikael Skov. And that is how it will stay for now, BNRI says. The investment strategy of the private equity group focuses on very selective and ambitious investments, which stands to benefit the team of Tankers Inc. at a time when stable financial partners can be few and far apart in shipping.
The faith in and ambitions for Tankers Inc. have not diminished, not even during the current period of global pressure in the shipping industry. On the contrary, director Freddie Lee from Barclays’ Natural Resource Investments says that the development has taken off in just the last few months and the faith in the performance capability of the Danish company is entirely intact.
